Ignite Church · Myrtle Beach, SC
Rigorous theological training for the work God has called you to.
Ignite Seminary provides graduate-level theological education focused on one thing: equipping men and women to accurately handle the Word of God and faithfully serve in ministry — without leaving the church, family, or job God has already placed you in.
Who should apply
Ignite Seminary is not a Bible college offering a broad range of subjects or liberal arts courses. It is intentionally focused on preparing men and women for leadership in the local church, missions, church planting, and other biblical ministries and organizations. The coursework is rigorous and requires significant reading, study, and personal discipline.
- Currently serving as a pastor, or sensing a call to pastoral ministry
- Called to plant churches or to missionary service
- Gifted to teach, and wanting to rightly divide the Word of God
- Serving in apostolic or prophetic ministry and wanting a stronger biblical and theological foundation
If your desire is to know God's Word more deeply, proclaim it more faithfully, and lead others with biblical conviction and Spirit-empowered ministry, Ignite Seminary is designed to help equip you for that calling.
How the program works
One evening a week
Classes meet every Monday evening from 6:00 to 9:00 pm — built for people who work or serve in ministry during the day.
Eight-week courses
Each course runs eight weekly sessions, followed by a short break before the next course begins.
6–9 hours of study a week
Adjunct Professor Mark Prince recommends planning 6 to 9 hours outside of class for reading, written work, and class prep.
Three years, start to finish
The complete program is designed to be finished in three years while you stay in your church, ministry, or career.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need previous Bible college?+
No. Most seminaries require a bachelor's degree for admission — Ignite Seminary requires only a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Many faithful pastors, teachers, missionaries, and ministry leaders have never had the opportunity to earn a college degree, and cannot leave their churches or families for full-time study.
Can I work while attending?+
Yes. The program is designed for working adults and those already serving in ministry. You can continue in your pastorate, ministry, or career while attending classes one evening a week.
Will there be homework?+
Yes. Expect weekly homework and substantial reading with each course — roughly 6 to 9 hours a week outside of class. The coursework is rigorous, but it is designed to be achievable and deeply rewarding for those committed to God's call on their lives.
Can I audit classes?+
Yes, at the same tuition rate as taking a course for credit. Auditing students attend all sessions but are not required to complete assignments or take exams, and no academic credit or certificate of completion is awarded.
Is Ignite Seminary accredited?+
Ignite Seminary is not currently accredited. Students who successfully complete a course receive a certificate of completion. Many colleges and seminaries recognize prior learning through certificates, ministry training, and professional experience when evaluating transfer or advanced standing, though transfer credit is always determined by the receiving institution.
Are payment plans available?+
Yes — a 12-month plan of $100 per month spreads annual tuition across the year. The annual registration fee and the cost of textbooks are separate from the monthly plan.
